This is a shoutout to my multifaceted wardrobe and my mind that will not make itself up. Whereas I styled an all-out grunge look with the first pair of sneakers, I decided to take the second one where grunge and chic converges, hoping that I'd style a relatively different look but still stay true to my own wardrobe.
Black, slight earth tones and ripped tights combined, I think the path works out. With the sun hung low in the air at five in the evening, the local skate park, graffitied allure and all, was abuzz with skaters as these photos were taken.
The second pair of shoes I picked out from Revolutions's store were a pair of New Balance MRT580BV*, taking it a notch up from the previous pair I styled what with its stark white details and it being a men's pair.
Keeping with my usual choice of black, I decided to splash in an oversized khaki button-down that I foraged from a suitcase that held contents of clothes from a decade ago as an outerpiece. This balances out the otherwise streamlined silhouette of a crop top and skater skirt. Classic grunge pieces like a choker and ripped tights (clumsily hacked off by my two left feet) stop the look from being too delicate, and pigtailed braids completed the look with tongue in cheek coyness added to the mix.
Many of you have reacted positively to the photos from the previous post and I'd just like to give my mother a little shout out here -- all of the outfit shots you see on The Mayden are taken by her unless stated otherwise.
I'd also like to specially thank Revolution, a retailer of original sneakers here in Brunei, for this collaboration.
