There come times during the naming of outfit posts where I am knocked back ungracefully by the epiphanic ideas that trail swiftly behind. A halter top layered in chiffoned elegance and patterned with blue roses tucked into a pair of distressed denim shorts that made for an interesting combination for which I promptly deemed with excitement 'The Ripped Rose' is no exception.
Presently, as I sit pondering, my teeth chewing the petals of blue and lips destroying the succulent drops of nectar, I wonder how even the sweetest things in life can be tainted and torn.
"Such is life," my mother once said, and ah, how tragic that was!
How tragic that jagged ends of silvered blades tear through silk to draw red from white, flowing like serpents through fields untamed.
How tragic that sheets pristine get inked black when the sleeper bleeds with a pen in hand and wine at the stand and rubber used as bands and how tragic that pulses break apart into shards that beat not as one but as none when there is a knock on the right closest to where another's once was and how tragic that walls of marble crack when there is a stomp and a crack and a kick that was never meant to be but, oh darn it, the rat! There was a rat!
How tragic that roses rip when all a butterfly wants is to smell the nectarine closest to the center but its claws tear the gentle cushion that is beneath it.
A quick life update: The start of this week marked my finally being back to school after a year out. Fear and Nervousness were naturally two of the names of the butterflies in my stomach, but Excitement and Determination suffused my guts more so.
Twitter chats with university-experienced bloggers prior to this week quickly had me realizing that juggling university life and blogging will not be easy. This is a harbinger I shall heed and, until I find my footing with being excited to kick arse in all my modules
and possibly start a revolution (I'm sorry, too optimistic?), I apologize in advance for any unusual posting activities on and from The Mayden.
How do you juggle your personal and blogging life? I'd really appreciate the advise!
