Hailed as the first music festival to hit the land of Brunei, organized by The Collective Arts and Big Borneo in honour of the latter's 10th anniversary, #thebig10festival was easily the most anticipated event for the Abode's dwellers who, when Coachella season comes along, will tweet exasperatedly at the event's heartbreaking distance.
No more, though, for the 8 hour long music festival housing over 50 local creative businesses and 8 live music acts for an entire Sunday afternoon has heard our desperate calls.
And obvious festival fashion unfamiliarity.
Having had no idea I was even attending the festival -- I spent an 8 hours at a TEDx event earlier on in the day -- I picked out pieces from my wardrobe with only the words "gothic" and "boho" ringing through my mind after having decided to attend, succumbing to the social media hype of the event.
I am still unsure of whether I succeeded with my first festival outfit attempt, but I'll say I was pretty happy with the look. Also, fun fact: the outer piece I donned is a bathrobe circa mother's 80s wardrobe I hoped to pass as a faux kimono. Her reaction to me wearing out to an event where hundreds gathered was amazing.
I apologize for the lack of blog activity for the last week; I had been bitten by the flu bug and had been feeling under the weather for the entirety of the past seven days. I couldn't find the energy nor the motivation to do any actual work and my writing was extremely uninspired. I decided, then, to take a break for the sake of myself as well as the blog.
Though still not recovered, I'm feeling miles better and am ready to get back into it!
How has your week been? I'd love to know!
