Four stylish friends, a style blog and an intelligent word play in their branding; what more can one who is enthusiastic in style blogs ask for?
Having had in mind to use The Mayden as a platform for collaboration, I'm excited to introduce one of my favourite locally bred blogs, Wearrior Instinct, to guest post. Writing on behalf of the team of four is UK-based Alia Akaff with a look so sleek and chic,it makes my knees go weak.
For those of you that don't know me, I'm Alia, a fellow Bruneian fashion blogger over at Wearrior Instinct. I have only been blogging about my personal style for less than a year but my interest to document my style has always been there. When May reached out to us to do a guest post on The Mayden, we felt so honoured and happy that she has chosen us for this opportunity.
The seasons have changed and so has my style. With previously blogged about looks that were more on the grungy side, I recently have overhauled the way I dress and have transitioned into a style that looks a little more minimalistic chic. When I first started out at Wearrior Instinct, I debuted an outfit post titled "The Girl In Black" as I have a reputation of having a lack of colour within my wardrobe. This post will carry on with that reputation and will be showcasing an outfit that I have been loving this season.
The 70s trend is one that has been really popular this A/W. Personally, it's not my cup of tea, however there is an exception with one item: the wide leg trousers. There's just something about them that when paired with a high neck crop top, it gives the overall look a modern 70s feel without going over board on the trend.

To contrast the all black outfit I decided to pair it with my beloved oversized beige coat. It's finally cold enough in the UK to start wearing this piece again. It never fails to amp up the chicness in an outfit, I love it!
Sticking to the minimal theme, I wanted to 'accessorise' this outfit with a bold statement lip as I don't normally wear jewellery to accessorise. So in replacement of that, I always choose to wear lipstick. I feel like it completes the look just as much as jewellery does. I'm not one to think that dark red lips are only reserved for the cold winter season, I think it looks great all year round, day and night. That being said, I haven't whipped out this shade in a while - I've been too caught up with the nude lip / Kylie Jenner lip colour trend, oops! Shooting this look though has reminded me how much I love this lip colour against my skin tone and how it makes me feel so elegant whenever I wear it. It is definitely one that makes me embrace my paleness!
With wearing a high neck top, I thought it was only right to style it with a slicked back low ponytail (not gonna lie, I did feel like I was channelling out Kim Kardashian vibes in doing this).

I hope you guys enjoyed this look, special thanks once again to May for giving us this opportunity to collaborate. Feel free to check out Wearrior Instinct for my older style posts as well as the other Wearriors!
Happy Sunday everyone!
With a thoughtful meaning behind their name and styles that might as well be straight off runways, Wearrior Instrinct isn't a blog you want to miss. Alia is only one of the many faces behind the innovative style blog. Check them out at:
